Sending emails, watching online videos and downloading music may seem harmless, but our online habits have a surprising impact on the environment. The impact of our online activities on the internet is called “Internet Pollution”.
Recently, the Internet has become a large part of our lives. According to some estimates, more than five billion people were online on 2022 – that’s more than 60 percent of world’s population. This number continues to grow rapidly as more people go online every year. This means that a large amount of data is stored in computers everyday which requires connecting more and more devices to the Internet. This leads to processing a huge amount of data and powering a large number of devices which can cause serious challenges for the environment.
However, there are some ways to protect the environment against the Internet Pollution. Since people are not aware of the amount of energy they waste by their online habits, teaching them how to use the Internet wisely is helpful. Also, developing technologies that help reduce energy consumption of our devices is another way. This can be done by using clean energy sources. Google, for example, uses solar panels and wind farms to power its data centers.

برای هر سؤال، جمله‌ای از متن را که جواب در آن است پیدا می‌کنیم.
۵۲) نادرست (False). جملهٔ سؤال می‌گوید اینترنت همیشه بخش بزرگی از زندگی ما بوده است. اما متن می‌گوید: «Recently, the Internet has become a large part of our lives.» یعنی «اخیراً اینترنت بخش بزرگی از زندگی ما شده است.» پس همیشه این‌طور نبوده.

۵۶) جواب در این جمله است: «This leads to processing a huge amount of data and powering a large number of devices which can cause serious challenges for the environment.» یعنی «این کار به پردازش حجم عظیمی از داده‌ها و روشن نگه داشتن (تأمین برق) تعداد زیادی دستگاه می‌انجامد که می‌تواند مشکلات جدی برای محیط زیست بسازد.»
۵۷) پاراگراف سوم دو راه می‌گوید:
- راه اول: «teaching them how to use the Internet wisely» یعنی آموزش دادن به مردم که چطور عاقلانه از اینترنت استفاده کنند.
- راه دوم: «developing technologies that help reduce energy consumption of our devices» یعنی ساختن فناوری‌هایی که به کم شدن مصرف انرژی دستگاه‌ها کمک کنند.
